Rudraksha

Elaeocarpus ganitrus is the scientific name of the Rudraksha tree which produces a typical seed called the “rudraksha”. 'Rudr' means Lord Shiva and 'Aksha' means tears. It is said that Lord Shiva shed tears of ecstasy during meditation. These tears sprouted into rudraksha trees when they came in contact with the ground. This particular tree species usually grows at a specific altitude in the mountains, especially along the Himalayan region. One can find these trees in Burma, Nepal, Thailand, India, Indonesia, etc. Many people use the different parts of the trees to make sleeper coaches for the railways. Hence, the trees are continually decreasing in number over the period.

There are many varieties of Rudraksha available for different uses in the market. Many people use Rudraksha beads in the form of mala and bracelets. They use it to chant their religious hymns or use it for their varied benefits. Many online stores offer affordable elegant jewellery designs for the people who love to wear such Rudraksha mala in gold designs.

Although Rudraksha is very popular for its uses in the world, yet many people do not use it as they fail to understand the varied benefits of this fruit.
